- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆The Bethany 4th of July Freedom Festival was a huge disappointment due to Bethany's City Manager's budget cuts. There were two food trucks and no vendors on the west side of the park. The only reason the carnival was present was due to a contract made with the carnival last year that had to be honored. It would appear that the turn out for the parade would have generated lots of revenue. I see this as a lost opportunity for Bethany to make money! Patron were leaving grumbling and complaining. I spoke with families that had come from Mustang, Yukon and El Reno because they liked what Bethany once had. I think the city counsel needs to rethink their selection for City Manager and his generous $129,000 salary.By mary porter, April 11, 2017
